The first day of the festival 2017 attendance was down by just over 100 but day 2 seen an increase of over a thousand racing fans compared to last year. The highlight of yesterday's meeting was the Gold Cup, as Robbie Power guided home Sizing John to claim the ultimate prize of €150,000 trained by Jessica Harrington. The best dressed lady competition selected two to go forward to the final tomorrow with Sophie Edghill from Dunlavin Co. Wicklow, who was selected yesterday and Ashley Reade from Caragh, Kildare was chosen on Tuesday.
Today the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle has an entry of twelve runners with trainer's Willie Mullins and Gordan Elliott both with four runners each. Nichols Canyon seems to be the people's choice whilst here in the media room amongst the racing experts, they fancy Sutton Place to give the favorite a run for his money, could be a wise each way bet!

The Kildare Fáilte AGM was held in Solas Bhride Centre Kildare Town recently. This is a service I provided for the board to include media distibution for publication and high resolution imagery for the  Kildare tourism website!
